Central Region Promotion Announcement







Please join us in congratulating Jecorey Newman on his promotion to General Manager of Transportation for the Kentucky DCS Toyota sites. In this new role, both the Hebron, KY Milk Run fleet, Owensboro, KY Frame fleet, and corresponding management teams will report to him.

Jecorey joined the J.B. Hunt team in August of 2011 as a DMIT at the Toyota Account in Louisville, KY after a six year career with UPS as a supervisor. After 3 months of exceptional performance, he was promoted to Operations Supervisor and given the Toyota - Hebron, KY Milk Run fleet responsibilities. It was not very long before Toyota began to take notice and sing his praises. In October 2012, Jecorey was trusted with the Account Manager role for the Toyota – Hebron, KY business. In this position, he managed the 7 driver Milk Run DCS fleet and acted as the Customer Liaison between Toyota and the JBI/JBT divisions monitoring 11 lanes yielding over 1,000 loads monthly.

Since taking over as Account Manager, Jecorey has extended the fleet Injury Free streak to 1,837 days and the Collision Free streaks to 1,371 days. He has also improved driver utilization, load density, buffer yard deployment saving Toyota more than $50,000 annually while boosting JBH revenues; and has helped to to support driver pay increases. Furthermore, he helped to bridge the gap as the local subject matter expert when Toyota transitioned local and corporate management teams. Through his constant willingness to aid Toyota with continuous improvement projects, Jecorey has won the respect of both the local and corporate Toyota teams and has taken the overall client/carrier relationship to new heights.

In 2012, the Toyota Group Accounts received the Central Region 2011 Platinum Award. Jecorey and his impacts to the Hebron business were integral pieces of the puzzle allowing for this honor. In June 2012, Jecorey was honored by Toyota as one of the chief architects of a champion Kaizen project centered around improving the Milk Run load fleet density. In 2013, Jecorey helped aid the Toyota Group Accounts in receiving the Central Region 2012 CVD Award. The Hebron account alone was honored with “4 Years Injury Free”, “1 Million Miles Preventable Collision Free”, and “2 Years Preventable Collision Free” awards.

Jecorey is a Hopkinsville, KY native and moved to Louisville, KY in 2005 to attend the U of L graduating in 2010 with a degree in Business Management and he is very much looking forward to moving back to Louisville. Jecorey has also completed Toyota Kaizen carrier training, the JB Hunt Leaders program through 201, and looks forward to the challenge of Leaders 301 in 2014.

Time and time again, Jecorey has proven himself worthy of this promotion and will no doubt persist to strengthen the relationship with Toyota and lead the Toyota Group Accounts to future achievements.
